Fooch's Update: Both players have been ruled out with their respective injuries. Ellington has an ankle injury, Williams has a leg injury.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver and return man Bruce Ellington, and nose tackle Ian Williams have both gone to the locker room with leg injuries. Ellington was injured on a punt return, and it appeared the trainers were checking out his knee. Williams was injured a couple plays prior, and trainers were looking at his ankle. Both have been declared questionable to return.

The departure of Ellington means the 49ers are limited in the return game. Perrish Cox is listed as the backup punt returner, while Carlos Hyde is listed as the backup kick returner. The 49ers received a punt late in the second quarter, and Cox was the guy back for it.

Quinton Dial will replace Williams at nose tackle. Glenn Dorsey was the primary nose tackle last season after Williams broke his ankle, but is on injured reserve at the moment. Dorsey has the return designation, and is back at practice. If he is activated next week and Williams misses any time with this injury, we could see Dorsey split time with Dial. Or maybe Dial will work his way into a short term starting role. There are some options.
