The San Francisco 49ers conducted a rare Monday practice, and while we will not have a practice participation report for the session, we can get some minor insights on practice news. The 49ers played this past Thursday, and the players had the following three days off from the facility. They practiced Monday, will probably focus on meetings and the like on Tuesday, and then return for the first of three regular on-field practice sessions on Wednesday.
49ers beat writers were on hand and had some information on who was around for the start of practice. The designations are based on what they saw in their brief time on the practice field.
Not practicing today for #49ers: A. Davis, T. Brock, R. McDonald, J. Smith, B. Ventrone. Culliver and Hyde in blue no-contact jerseys.

Michael Crabtree, who was slowed by rib and knee injuries in Thursday's game, was on hand for the start of #49ers' practice.

Looked like more rehab for CB Tramaine Brock (hamstring), who was coming on to the field as media was leaving.

I asked #49ers Tramaine Brock how his hamstring is as he walked out to practice. Gave me the hand wiggle which I took as so-so.

Prior to practice, Jim Harbaugh met with the media, and provided some injury updates. He said that Michael Crabtree was working through something but had said he was doing better. NaVorro Bowman will continue with another week of rehab, which will take us up to the end of the 21-day practice window next week. At that point they have to either activate him, or place him on season-ending IR. Glenn Dorsey will also get another week of rehab as well. He remains on the 53-man roster.
Jim Harbaugh did say that Anthony Davis is coming along in his progression through the concussion protocol. The 49ers will release their first official practice participation report on Wednesday, and that is really when we'll get an idea of where Davis is in his return. If he is not practicing, even in limited fashion, we could very well be left waiting another week.
