The San Francisco 49ers and San Diego Chargers released their final injury reports, and seven players across the two teams have been ruled OUT for the game. None of the seven are surprising given that none of them practiced the entire week. On the 49ers side of things, I would be surprised if any of the four players was active next week for the season finale.
The big roster questions for the 49ers heading into Saturday's game is whether or not Anthony Davis and Frank Gore will play. Both are dealing with concussions, but got into practice this week. Davis has missed a month due to his concussion, while Gore suffered his last week. Gore appears to have moved through the concussion protocol much quicker than Davis, but both need to pass the final contact test.
Ahmad Brooks is dealing with a thumb issue that could cost him Saturday's game. If he cannot play, Dan Skuta would likely start in his place, with Aaron Lynch getting nickel work. The Chargers use a lot of three-wide receiver sets, but they will also be without wide receiver Keenan Allen. We'd like to see more of Lynch these final two weeks, but we'll have to wait and see what Saturday brings.
