We have dealt with an unending series of rumors about Jim Harbaugh's future, but for a moment, let's enjoy another Jim Harbaugh story that describes his personality to a T.
The folks at MLive.com put together an article discussing some Harbaugh-Michigan stuff. The gist of the article is that Jim Harbaugh is insane enough to make the rare move of going from successful NFL coach to college. We've heard plenty of stories about Jim Harbaugh's competitiveness, but this one quickly shoots to quite possibly my favorite.
According to the reporter, when Jim Harbaugh married current wife Sarah, he had a bachelor party with friends, and it involved laser tag. Everybody chose names for tracking score, and Jim went with "Captain Comeback", which was his nickname with the Colts.
When the fake smoke cleared and the game wrapped, it was revealed that Captain Comeback recorded more "kills" than anyone else in the party. Harbaugh won. Because he always wins. But upon further examination of where each person's shots came from, it became clear why he won in such a landslide.
"All his shots came against this 10-year-old kid," laughs Eric Bakhtiari, who played for Harbaugh in college and in the NFL with the 49ers. "He just sat there, hunting this 10-year-old kid so he could win.
"(He's crazy), but in the best way possible. I mean, hey, Steve Jobs was crazy, too."
This is pretty much as Harbaugh as it comes. We know he is crazy competitive, so it should surprise nobody that he would pull out all the stops to dominate in laser tag.
