The San Francisco 49ers wrapped up their Week 16 on Saturday, but it's another 2014 NFL Sunday, so we get some more speculation on Jim Harbaugh's future. Jay Glazer had the latest report on FOX, and it covered both the University of Michigan and the Chicago Bears.
According to Glazer, Michigan has relayed their interest to Jim Harbaugh, and they have approached the 49ers with their interest in Harbaugh. Glazer is reporting Harbaugh wants to weigh his options, and reportedly said, "You know, right now, i just don't know what i wanna do." Finally, Glazer said the Chicago Bears are a team to keep an eye on with regard to Harbaugh. Marc Trestman is their coach right now, but his struggles this season appear to be bringing his tenure to an end.
There are no specifics on exactly when the Michigan stuff happened, but it was recently. Additionally, it appears this will resolve itself within two days of the end of the season. The 49ers will play their season finale next Sunday, and then have the player getaway day the next day. I have to think Jim Harbaugh will meet with Jed York and Trent Baalke at some time during that period, and this situation will be resolved in some form or fashion.
