It has been a rather hideous season, but we get to end on at least one fun note. Today marks the eighth anniversary of the launch of Niners Nation. On December 22, 2006, Niners Nation launched into the world.
Over the course of eight years, we enjoyed the high point of the Mike Nolan era (the end of the 2006 season), and the lowlights soon to follow. We got excited about Mike Singletary, and then saw that turn into an absolute train wreck. We made our way through the highs of the Harbaughcalypse, and apparently now get to deal with the lows of the second Harbaughcalypse.
I don't know what the coming year and beyond will bring, but it has been a ton of fun the last eight years. Here are a few screenshots from the first eight years, showing some of the different looks of the site. You can play around and check out other iterations at the Web Archive. And as always, you can read every piece of front page content we've ever published in the site archive.
