The University of Michigan approached the San Francisco 49ers recently to let them know they were interested in Jim Harbaugh. General manager Trent Baalke confirmed this on Monday during his weekly radio appearance. There are rumors of a contract worth $8 million per year, but Baalke said he did not know if a contract had specifically been handed to Jim Harbaugh at this point.
The University of Michigan pursuit of Harbaugh has now taken to social media. Today is Jim Harbaugh's birthday, and @umichfootball had a tweet for him.
Happy Birthday, Jim. #GoBlue pic.twitter.com/kameWJ7F5S

I won't say Michigan is getting desperate, but they are certainly pulling out all the stops. Their outgoing quarterback, Devin Gardner, celebrated his birthday on December 14, and he did not get a tweet from the Michigan football account.
I do wonder if Michigan is aware of Jim Harbaugh's old Twitter account. He had it at Stanford, but eventually moved on when he realized it was a rabbit hole he did not need to go down. His time on Twitter was a glorious period for the world.
Whatever the case, happy birthday to the San Francisco 49ers head coach.
