Aldon Smith strongly denies drinking at Ray McDonald's house

Aldon Smith spoke with the local media on Tuesday, and he vehemently denied drinking alcohol at Ray McDonald's house on the day in question. A search warrant affidavit included a statement from the alleged sexual assault victim stating that Smith showed up and spent most of the day drinking at McDonald's house. The alleged victim also said Smith and McDonald went to a liquor store to pick up vodka and cranberry juice.

Smith told the media he only spent about an hour at McDonald's house, and then went to a charity event. On Monday, his agent, Doug Hendrickson, told Cam Inman that Smith had not had a drink, and was consistently passing twice weekly testing. Prior to Hendrickson's statement, general manager Trent Baalke said the team was looking into it, but he would not go into further detail.

Aldon Smith's choice whether or not to drink is strictly on him. His probation terms state he cannot have alcohol in his system when driving, and he cannot go to a liquor store. We hope the best for him from a personal standpoint, but from a 49ers standpoint, he has to avoid these situations to avoid having his probation revoked. At this point all we can do is hope for the best.
