The San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals released their final injury reports for Sunday's Week 17 matchup, and we got some clarification on some 49ers questions. Eric Reid is listed as out for Sunday's game, which means Craig Dahl will probably start in his place. According to Matt Maiocco, Reid was at practice in a blue non-contact jersey. That is a good sign of some progression, but not enough to get him back for Sunday. And that's probably best. There's nothing to play for, so why risk anything in a lost season?
Jim Harbaugh met with the media Friday afternoon, and he said that Joe Looney would start in place of Alex Boone. I had said I was not sure what to expect, but this is seemingly the easiest choice. This means Dillon Farrell will be the primary backup at the guard positions. According to Harbaugh, Farrell was active last week because he also serves as an emergency tight end (and the team only had two tight ends).
Tramaine Brock and Ahmad Brooks could prove to be game-time decisions. The 49ers will announce inactives at 11:55 a.m. PT, so we'll see then if either will get some playing time to close out the season.
