The San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals released their Week 17 inactives, and there are no real surprises. The 49ers have placed numerous players on injured reserve this season, so there are only a few injury specific deactivations. Stevie Johnson, Carlos Hyde and Eric Reid were all ruled out on Friday, so they will not suit up.
Ahmad Brooks is inactive once again, so Dan Skuta and Aaron Lynch will split time opposite Aldon Smith. Brooks has a sizable cap hit in 2015, so some combination of Skuta and Lynch could be in the starting lineup next season. My guess is Lynch is the starter, but who knows what a different coaching staff might want.
Cornerbacks Perrish Cox and Tramaine Brock are both inactive, so Chris Culliver and Dontae Johnson will get the start. Leon McFadden will serve as the nickel back. Cox and Culliver are free agents after the season. Cox started strong, but finished fairly quietly. Culliver has been more consistent week in and week out, but it will be interesting to see what kind of money will be available to both in free agency.
