Now that it has finally happened and Coach Harbaugh is really truly gone, it almost doesn't feel real. We've been expecting it for months/weeks/days, but here it is now. It's done. The final act of the Jim Harbaugh 49ers era is officially over. It was just right that he began with a win and ended with a win also. He also noted how he racked up a total of 49 victories (playoffs included), and that was just right too. He was handed the last game ball, and he held on to that thing till the very end.
The team begins another search for a new leader, and it's going to be very large shoes to fill. There are so many directions York and Baalke can go on this, and it's going to be another roller coaster ride of an off-season. I'm looking forward to that day now when the new head coach is announced. For now though, I will just quietly enjoy the last moments that Jim Harbaugh was Coach of these San Francisco 49ers.
