Since the San Francisco 49ers loss to the Seattle Seahawks, it has been mostly negative news surrounding the team, with the coaching staff being the most notable aspect. But we do have some good news on Wednesday! According to the beat writers, Anthony Davis appears to have progressed to stage three of the concussion protocol.
David was in the team's weight room, which is apparently the last step before he returns to practice. According to Maiocco, he would then engage in football-specific activities, and then full football activity and final clearance. The 49ers have practice Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. My guess is he will be listed as either DNP or limited on Wednesday. Jim Harbaugh will meet with the media later today, and I'm sure he will get a question about Davis. We're likely to find out his final status either Saturday, or sometime Sunday morning.
The 49ers have had Jonathan Martin starting in place of Davis on and off this season. It has been primarily on due to multiple injuries. Fingers crossed Davis can get healthy enough to close out the final four weeks of the regular season.
