49ers-Raiders injury report: Glenn Dorsey back at practice, Vance McDonald still sitting

The San Francisco 49ers released their Wednesday injury report for Week 14. We break down who was absent, and who participated.

The San Francisco 49ers released their first practice participation report of Week 14, and we have a few notable names to consider. We already discussed Anthony Davis in the previous article. He was doing cardio and weight room work, and was listed as a DNP on Wednesday. If he is asymptomatic on Thursday, I suspect we will see him get some football activities in, and be listed as limited.

Glenn Dorsey was listed as limited, which is a big step forward for him. He was activated to the 53-man roster two weeks ago, and this is his day of anything more than a DNP. It would seem like he is finally making the transition from rehab work to more football work. There is no word on his status for Sunday, but I'd imagine Vic Fangio will get a question about it on Thursday at his weekly press conference.

Tramaine Brock and Vance McDonald both sat out practice once again. There is no word on when Brock will be back in game shape. McDonald participated in three limited practice sessions last week, so sitting out Wednesday will be something to track. There was rainy weather in Santa Clara, so it could very well be precautionary. We'll see how the week develops. If he cannot go on Sunday, Asante Cleveland will remain on the roster as the third tight end behind Vernon Davis and Garrett Celek.

Chris Culliver was limited in practice, and the media folks saw him wearing a blue non-contact jersey. He is dealing with a shoulder injury. Michael Crabtree was also limited. He is listed as having a knee issue. Last Thursday, he went down briefly what first looked like a knee injury, and later was reported as a rib injury. It would seem the knee is the issue for now.

Bruce Ellington is back in full, and seemingly could move back into his return role. He suffered a sprained ankle a few weeks ago, and Perrish Cox and Carlos Hyde have handled the return work in his absence. Ellington was inconsistent with the role, and it did not improve when Cox and Hyde split it up. Harbaugh said he is just about back to 100 percent and could be back in the return role this weekend. Hopefully we see some improvement this Sunday.
