49ers-Raiders inactives: Quinton Patton, Bruce Ellington active

The 49ers and Raiders inactives revealed one small surprise. Quinton Patton will be active on game day for the first time this season. Here are the full lists.

The San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders released their Week 14 inactives, and there is one surprise. Wide receiver Quinton Patton is active for the first time this season. He and Bruce Ellington are both active, with Brandon Lloyd inactive. Lloyd was listed on Friday as probable with a quadricep injury. Either the injury is still a problem, or the 49ers just want to mix things up.

Ellington's activation likely means he will re-claim the punt and kick return roles. He struggled with consistency in those roles, but Perrish Cox and Carlos Hyde were not any better in their time in the roles while Ellington was out with an ankle injury. It will be interesting to see how much the 49ers use Ellington and Patton in the passing game. They bring some added elements that this group sometimes seem to be missing. I'm not holding my breath for anything crazy, but maybe we see something at least a little bit interesting.

49ers inactives: QB Josh Johnson, WR Brandon Lloyd, DT Glenn Dorsey, CB Tramaine Brock, OT Anthony Davis, TE Vance McDonald, S Raymond Ventrone

Raiders inactives: QB Matt McGloin, WR Denarius Moore, CB Neiko Thorpe, G Tony Bergstrom, T Menelik Watson, TE Brian Leonhardt, DT S. McGee
