The San Francisco 49ers activated linebacker NaVorro Bowman to the 53-man roster on Tuesday, meaning he will be able to continue rehabbing toward eventual practice. Tuesday is player availability each week, and so Bowman had a chance to meet the media and discuss his return. Eric Branch has a full transcript
He acknowledged that he very well might not play this season as he continues working back from his knee injury. He acknowledged what Vic Fangio said about needing at least a couple weeks of practice. However, he also said that getting into some basic football activities would also give him a better handle on where his knee is at. If the 49ers had not activated him, he could not practice the rest of the season, and would not be able to get into football activities until late in the spring. If the medical staff thinks it is safe to get him into pads and getting some work done, it makes sense to at least figure out where things stand before the offseason.
Bowman chatted about plenty of topics, and was pretty upfront about his thoughts on this year's team. Give the full transcript a read, but here were some notable comments.
