2014 NFL Combine results: Wide receiver 40 times and measurements

We've got full results from the wide receivers Sunday Combine work. Brandin Cooks led the way in the official 40-yard dash times.

Here you go, your wide receiver 40 times! Given the 49ers needs, I'd imagine a few people might be interested in some of this. I put together the table below with a rundown of height, weight, hand size and Official 40 time. I probably should have included arm length given Baalke's notorious interest in it. I'll try and add that in a little bit if I get some time.

For now though, we've got official 40 times. NFL Network hand clocks the 40 as well, but they are almost always faster than the electronic timer. In this case there were some very solid speeds with fan favorite Brandin Cooks leading the way with a 4.33 40. Speed was not really a question mark for him, so this qualifies as more just checking the box for his draft profile.

The question for 49ers fans is if the team would even know how to use him. Friend of the site Dylan DeSimone made some good points on Twitter:

It's easy to become enamored with a fast receiver, particularly given the 49ers need for a wide receiver who can break things open over the top. Could they actually figure out how to use a guy like Cooks? I suppose the LMJ comparison could be off because that is based more on the 49ers blocking, but it's still something to think about. I'd like to hope the 49ers could figure out how to use a guy like Cooks with that kind of speed, but I don't think any of us can be confident in that at the moment.
