If you have a case of the Monday's, we have a case of the Pro Days to ease you back into the work week. This is the last week of Pro Days which features multiple teams each day. Today features Iowa, Maine, and North Carolina State.
Iowa
C.J. Fiedorowicz, Tight End: The 6'5" tight end possesses decent speed for his height, with a 4.76 forty at the combine. He'll be looking to improve on that time today. While Fiedorowicz didn't put up huge numbers this season (30 receptions, 6 touchdowns), he does possess sleeper potential. He can be a mismatch for defenses in the red zone and is an above-average blocker.
Christian Kirksey, Linebacker: Kirksey was a combine invitee, but didn't do all of the drills, including the forty. He plays small at 6'2" and has not shown the ability to shed blocks and pressure the quarterback. His strength lies in pass coverage and run defense, where his speed and instincts make up for his lack of ideal size and brute force. Kirksey had a good week of Senior Bowl practices, and he should be a third or fourth round selection, especially with a good forty time today.
NC State
Dontae Johnson, Safety/Cornerback: Johnson is an interesting prospect, due to his versatility and height. Johnson has started at both safety and corner, piling up 81 tackles and 3 interceptions in 2014. At 6'2" 200 lbs, Johnson ran a 4.45 forty at the combine. In BleedingGreenNation's scouting report of Johnson, they noted Johnson was beaten badly by Sammy Watkins this season, but part of it is due to how far off Johnson plays. Whoever drafts Johnson will bring him in to be a press corner, and only then will we know what Johnson really can do. There are some other options at corner that have height, but Johnson wouldn't require an early round selection, as he should be drafted in the fifth or later. He'll be a bit of a project, but one that could work out.
Pro days for tomorrow include Massachusetts, North Carolina, North Carolina A&T, and Texas-San Antonio
