The NFL has officially announced the date for Super Bowl 50 at Levi's Stadium, and as expected it will be Sunday, February 7, 2016. This is the first Sunday in February, which has been the set-up for over a decade now. Per Mike Rosenberg, Super Bowl L will be the 13th straight Super Bowl to take place the first Sunday in February. Mike also pointed out it is 681 days until the L kickoff!

This is not exactly shocking news, but I figured it was worth a mention. Wrestlemania 31 in 2015 probably qualifies as the first major planned event, although an NFC Championship Game against the Seahawks next January would be kind of big as well.

It's an interesting pair of Super Bowls coming up, with Super Bowl 49 next February in Arizona, and then Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara. I think it seems fitting that the 49ers would win Super Bowl "49", and then get a chance to repeat with Super Bowl 50 in their home stadium. It's almost like it's some kind of sign! OK, maybe not, but a man can dream, can't he?
