Oh hell.
Or, if this news makes you happy, how about this:
It's April 1, so I'm always inclined to take things with a grain of salt, but a Washington, D.C. report is suggesting the San Francisco 49ers have "thrown their hat in the ring" with free agent wide receiver DeSean Jackson.
Per source: San Francisco has now thrown their hat in the ring for DeSean Jackson. #Redskins #49ers

In reality, I am would bet most of money that this is a case of DeSean Jackson's agent trying to build leverage during his negotiations with Washington. Jackson's first free agent visit was with Washington, and all reports indicate he is still talking with them. If he leaves Washington without a contract, odds are good he signs elsewhere. I just still don't see it happening in San Francisco.
For now, we'll keep an eye on the Washington stuff. I think Snyder & Co. will eventually close the deal on this, but for now it remains at least a little interesting. Just don't get your hopes up too high if you are hoping the 49ers sign Jackson.
Fooch's Update: And we have more!
Per sources: San Francisco reached out to DeSean Jackson while he was at dinner with Redskins. They want him to visit. #Redskins #49ers

That's most certainly the pre-planned bailout call you have during a first date.
Fooch's Update #2: And more....
Redskins and DeSean Jackson still haven’t discussed contract. Team to watch: SF. 49ers have "real but guarded" interest in DJax, per source

What does that even mean?
