The San Francisco 49ers have a busy day on Monday, as they will be hosting three different players for official visits. We already knew about running back Storm Johnson and wide receiver Albert Wilson. Now we know of a third. Matt Barrows is reporting the 49ers will host Clemson wide receiver Martavis Bryant.
Bryant is part of an incredibly deep wide receiver class. He ranked 13th in Poldarn's consensus rankings last month. He ranked 12th in our NN wide receiver rankings. He's a guy who brings an incredibly combination of height and speed to the table, but there are some concerns about his size. Even though he's tall, it seems like he's a guy who needs to add some pounds to his frame.
If the 49ers are looking for a deep threat, Bryant could very well be that guy. He's got more to work on than some of the other wide receiver prospects, but he'd be coming into a good situation. The 49ers already have Michael Crabtree, Anquan Boldin, and Vernon Davis as playmakers in the passing game. The team's plans at wide receiver will be interesting to track in the coming months. Once the team does add whatever receivers it is going to add, the question then is how they will be added into the mix.
Here's a quick rundown of some of Johnson's pertinent measurements from the Combine:
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 211 lbs
Arm length: 32 5/8"
40-time: 4.42
Bench Press: 16
Vertical: 39"
Broad: 10'04"
20-yard shuttle: 4.15
3-cone drill: 7.18
