Reports out of Los Angeles indicate that San Francisco 49ers outside linebacker Aldon Smith was arrested earlier this afternoon at Los Angeles International Airport. Numerous eyewitnesses, including John Egan, tweeted that they saw him get arrested. It appears Cam Inman had a chance to speak with Egan, as he had some additional quotations:
Smith, 24, was at Gate 6 of Terminal 1 when confronted by several police, who then led Smith away from the Southwest gate, according to eyewitness John Egan of Austin.
"I heard him say, ‘I did nothing wrong,' " Egans said. "The whole thing ratcheted up from there. The cops were trying to calm him down. He wasn't out of control; just agitated."
Matt Barrows also tweeted out that LAX police informed him that a 25-year old San Jose resident was taken into custody after becoming belligerent in the security line. That conflicts a little with what Egan said, but this is a quickly evolving situation. Barrows tweeted this out:
Suspect in custody from LAX incident said something about having a bomb, police said.

We'll keep on eye on this developing situation. Smith is already in legal troubles due to his DUI and gun possession case. That case has him back in court on April 29.
