Andrew Weber-US PRESSWIRE

We're back for the 24th pick of the 2014 Niners Nation Community Mock Draft. You can see previous picks below in the draft table. You can also follow the mock draft board through this story stream.

With the 24th pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, bearAKA and the Cincinnati Bengals select Kyle Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech. He also considered LSU wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., TCU cornerback Jason Verrett, and Minnesota defensive tackle Ra'Shede Hageman. Here are his thoughts on the pick:

What do you do when the guy you planned on grabbing and your backup get picked in the two picks before you? Mostly just swear and rewrite your explanation.

The biggest hole on the Bengals last year wasn't hard to find. It was their secondary. They have other needs too but I wouldn't classify those as areas of weakness. It would have been amazing to pair Green and Beckham together, which would also put Dalton in a position to succeed or at the very least attract a new Quarterback. Unfortunately, that option was stolen right out from under me. That's ok though. I'm not bitter because Kyle Fuller is still an amazing prospect.

Someone who can come in right away and help solidify their ailing secondary and that is exactly what this team needs. Leon Hall is 29 and has torn his Achilles tendon twice in the past three years. Other than him the Bengals have Terence Newman who is old as hell and Dre Kirkpatrick who has yet to prove that he isn't a bust. If Kirkpatrick is able to play like he did in week 17 (9 tackles, 2 int*) and Fuller is able to put together a solid rookie season then we might have to wait until the second round of the playoffs to see the Bengals choke this year.

*His two interceptions in week 17 came against Flacco so take them with a grain of salt

Trevor Woods: With Beckham Jr. coming off the board the pick prior, it's a no brainer that the Bengals shift their focus to cornerback. Andy Dalton and their secondary were the biggest reasons the Bengals season ended in the Wild Card round last season and they must improve their secondary if they want to compete in the AFC North. Fuller would bring a physical presence to their secondary, as the Virginia Tech corner is good in man coverage and is very gritty.

Nick Chiamardas: The Bengals have some areas to address on the defensive side of the ball including safety, defensive end, and corner. Grabbing Fuller here is not only smart, but seems like an ideal fit. Fuller won't have too much pressure to come in and start from day one (although he's talented enough to make it happen). Has ideal size and length to accompany his speed an athleticism. Fuller was a late riser up the draft boards after a very impressive combine. Teams hoping to grab a top corner late in round one will be disappointed to see Fuller off the board.
