2014 NN community mock draft: With the 38th pick, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select ...

The 2014 Niners Nation NFL mock draft is off and running. We move on to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, courtesy of user TopFlightSecurity.

We're back for the 38th pick of the 2014 Niners Nation Community Mock Draft. You can see previous picks below in the draft table. You can also follow the mock draft board through this story stream.

With the 38th pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, TopFlightSecurity and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Marqise Lee, WR, USC. He also considered OLBD/DE Demarcus Lawrence, TE: Austin Seferian-Jenkins, and offensive lineman Joel Bitonio. Here are his thoughts on the pick:

Once again another easy choice one that I don't think the Bucs can pass on. They traded away Mike Williams and now have Hawkins, Murphy and the mighty Chris Owusu behind Vincent Jackson. None of those guys are of any quality and Lee will be a serious upgrade. I am shocked Lee lasted this long, especially with other teams that need a wide receiver. None the less I have followed Lee and his back story is awesome to say the least.

His 2013 was a rough one for several reasons. He was banged up, players left and the list goes on. But you just don't go from what he did as a freshman and a sophomore year to nothing. I believe that with that slow 40 time and nothing to wow them at his pro day and on field drills they are having doubts maybe. His lower body test (broad jump and vertical) were both good numbers yet the 40 time did not show that same explosion. From what I have seen he is not that super deep threat but can get going when he needs too. He helps in the return game right off the bat and has the mold of a legit WR; I think it is just a matter of putting all together. Only time will tell if 2013 was just a pure nightmare or another glimpse of a USC WR not doing much on the next level.

I still believe they need to add a pass rusher, tight end and guard to complete this draft but the way this mock is going I should have the option to find all three positions to fill the holes within this roster. Not having a 4th round pick could hurt if they go the route that I have but I don't believe either guy I have drafted for them falls to them in either round in the real world. And with Mike Glennon and Josh McCown to give completion to one another could help. From what I saw neither was that bad last year for their given teams and I think they might be  able to get by with Jeff Tedford guiding these guys, and another rookie into decent quarterback play for a year or two.

Trevor Woods: After sending receiver Mike Williams to the Bills the Bucs have an immediate need at receiver. Lee was once considered to be the best receiver in this class, but his stock has fallen. While Lee had a mediocre year in 2013, his 2012 tape is much better. If Lee can limit his drops, this will be a nice pick for Tampa.

Nick Chiamardas: I really like Lee and think he'll have a very good pro career as long as he can stay healthy. Landing in Tampa makes sense from a needs basis. Plus, Lee, a quick, ever elusive homerun-threat will be a perfect compliment to the big bodied, physcially dominant Vincent Jackson. Tampa needs weapons on offense and Lee will be just that to help whomever wins that QB job this fall.
