The 2014 Niners Nation NFL mock draft is off and running. We move on to the Jacksonville Jaguars, courtesy of user 9er4life22.

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

We're back for the 39th pick of the 2014 Niners Nation Community Mock Draft. You can see previous picks below in the draft table. You can also follow the mock draft board through this story stream.

With the 39th pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, 9er4life22 and the Jacksonville Jaguars select Jace Amaro, TE, Texas Tech. If Hyde and/or Lee hadn't been picked RIGHT before me, they would likely be the choices. He also considered:

Demarcus Lawrence: Good edge rusher to play opposite of and eventually replace Chris Clemons

Ra'shede Hageman: Mountain of a man at 6'6 310, could play NT, DT, or even the "Red Bryant role" (bigger, run-stuffing end).

Louis Nix: More traditional interior run stuffer, lots of potential, was pegged as a top 15 pick before Senior Bowl/Combine/Pro Day so he has good tape.

Kyle Fuller: The Jaguars actually have a very underrated (and young) secondary, but it's far from perfect.

Here are his thoughts on the pick:

Logic behind the pick: I did get some criticism for not taking Sammy Watkins in the first round, but Bridgewater with Amaro may outweigh Carr and Watkins here. Jace Amaro is an absolute monster of a man with good hands; he draws the Jimmy Graham comparison nearly as often as Eric Ebron draws the Vernon Davis comparison. Marcedes Lewis, the current starting Tight End, is pretty solid as both a receiver as a blocker, but he's far from elite, and he's certainly not getting any younger. With Shorts, Lewis, Amaro, and Blackmon when he comes back, Bridgewater has a stable of receiving targets to work with. Amaro has the potential to be unstoppable here.

Trevor Woods: After taking Teddy Bridgewater in the first round, the Jaguars decide to give him some help in the passing game. Jace Amaro is the best option available at tight end here and will improve a lackluster passing game in Jacksonville. It's a good decision here to invest in the offense after going all in with Bridgewater as their starter of the future. Amaro isn't as explosive as Eric Ebron, but has the ability to be a dangerous red zone threat and third down conversion monster.

Nick Chiamardas: The Jaguars, as in years past have several needs to address and I don't mind the idea of adding Amaro. It's not the pick I would make but it does give the Jags QB (Teddy Bridgewater according to this mock) a target for the middle of the field. I don't think Amaro will unseat Mercedes Lewis in year one but it would allow the Jags to operate more out of two TE sets. Jacksonville really needs to shore up it's offensive line, particularly center/guard. Weston Richburg and Marcus Martin are both still available and would be excellent picks here as well.
