Golden Nuggets: Trent Baalke saying all the right things

Sunday, April 27th, 2014 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from around the Internet.

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning everyone. Sorry about the lateness in the Golden Nuggets this morning. I'd like to say I have an especially good excuse for having them up late, but in reality, I was catching up on season two of Hannibal and lost track of time. So we're going to quickly get through the links today.

I gotta say, I like everything I'm hearing from General Manager Trent Baalke this week. He came out in support of Aldon Smith, and did so in the way that he needed to -- by dismissing the absurd notion of releasing the player while still being cautious. He and Jim Harbaugh came out in support of Colin Kaepernick aggressively, he made the right statements regarding LaMichael James, and he even joked about public displays of affection regarding his relationship with Harbaugh. Pretty good stuff, I think.

Onto the links.
