Golden Nuggets: Day two of OTAs in the books, Kaepernick professes innocence

Thursday, May 29, 2014 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of 49ers links from around the web.

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning everyone, yesterday the 49ers completed day two of their organized team activities. The media had access to the players and coaches so we got more info than we have had in a while. Vernon Davis and Alex Boone were not present for the camp as Alex Boone is unsatisfied with his contract and Vernon was missing for an as of yet unspecified reason. It really isn't that surprising that Boone is dissatisfied with his contract as he signed it before he became a starter and is substantially underpaid for an offensive lineman of his caliber.

The other big piece of news from the OTAs was Colin Kaepernick speaking on a number of topics including the now concluded investigation of the "suspicious incident" in Miami. He professed his innocence and stated that he just wanted to let the state attorney finish their job so the matter could be closed. I'm a little tired of this story as it seems from everything we have available to us that the players did nothing wrong other than possibly smoke marijuana. The legal process takes time, I get it, but if the players were never even questioned by the police It's hard to imagine any punishment being doled out. Well anyways, lets get to those links.
