Golden Nuggets: Miami Phone Calls Released

Wednesday, May 7th, 2014 a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from across the Internet

Kyle Terada-US PRESSWIRE

Finally! The phone calls from that Miami night that cast Colin Kaepernick as a criminal (in the media's immediate reaction at least) was finally released. One call was reportedly from Ricardo Lockette and the other is from a hotel security guard. Lockette's call reports that a woman that is laying on a bed and will not leave. It is reported that she was waiting for Colin, but Colin was not there. The call from the security guard reports a woman screaming and crying in the room where Kap, Lockette, and Patton were in.

While the Miami police still investigate the situation, it seems that the media jumped to conclusions that could have tarnished Colin's reputation. In the phone calls, it is stated that this woman did have some relationship with Kap, but it appears he was not in the room during this time. It seems irresponsible that the media will throw around a person's name with a crime attached without any real knowledge of the story. Colin is one of the most scrutinized players in the league because of his touchdown celebrations, the clothes he wears when talking to the media, and his supposed arrogance. Regardless, the media should do its duty and investigate a story before blowing it out of proportion. Colin's reputation may be damaged regardless of the outcome of the investigation.
