Fooch's Update #2: More details

Fooch's Update: Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport are now reporting what BASG was first to get.

Friend of the site Bay Area Sports Guy is reporting the San Francisco 49ers have agreed to a contract extension with Colin Kaepernick that would keep him with the 49ers through the 2020 season. Kaepernick is currently signed through 2014, so this would be a 6-year extension.

We have not heard anything additional to this, but Steve has been good when he has broken news in the past. My guess is we'll see more details from the bigger names, but I have no problem believing this report now. I'd imagine at some point we'll start to see the beat writers report, and of course the Adam Schefters and Ian Rapoports will get in the mix.

A 6-year extension at some of the reported figures would potentially top out at just over $100 million. But obviously we have not heard any details yet, so we'll see what it ends up meaning. Getting this deal out of the way means the 49ers can start to work toward some of their other extensions and really frame their contract plans moving forward.
