The San Francisco 49ers have officially announced the news that Colin Kaepernick signed a 6-year contract extension. The deal could be worth as much as $126 million after incentives, but we are still waiting on the details.
In the meantime, the 49ers are holding a press conference, and Colin Kaepernick will be available to the media for questions. I've dropped in CSN Bay Area's live video for your viewing pleasure. If you have any problems with it, check out 49ers.com/live.
For now, it will be interesting to see what Kap has to say, and how questions are framed regarding this extension. We'll hear some of the usual cliches about being glad to have it done, and excited to focus on football. I am curious to see if he gets any questions about Boone and Davis looking for contract extensions. Obviously it's not his job to figure out their contracts, but it wouldn't surprise me if that kind of question came along. I don't expect an answer on it, but I'm sure someone will make it a little awkward!
We'll likely get a transcript later tonight, so if you miss this I'll hopefully have that to post for you. Enjoy!
