Vernon Davis talks about everything but his contract on Highly Questionable

San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis has been making the rounds promoting his stock offering with Fantex. It has come during his time away from the 49ers OTAs as he reportedly is looking for a new contract. Usually he has gotten a lot of questions about this, but he made one appearance on Thursday that did not talk about the subject, and was really funny.

Davis showed up on Highly Questionable, the show co-hosted by Dan Le Batard and Bomani Jones. They discussed Jim Harbaugh, VD getting tackled in his "man zone", and his most impressive weight room performance. The conversation is edited so I would not be surprised if there had been some contract talk, but we don't see it.

Vernon Davis also made an appearance on NFL Live earlier in the day. I didn't catch it, but Cam Inman recapped it. The NFL Live show featured the most interesting Kap comment.

Davis said he approached the 49ers last season about restructuring his contract that expires after the 2015 season.

“They said they would get back to us, and we’re just waiting,” Davis said Thursday on ESPN’s NFL Live.

At this point, it's difficult to fully understand how this whole thing is going to play out. Davis hasn't really been evasive by any stretch, but his comments are a bit muddled. He made it sound like he would be in attendance at minicamp in a week and a half, but even that is not entirely clear.
