Golden Nuggets: Colin Kaepernick and His Surprising Team Friendly Contract

Saturday, June 7, 2014 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of 49ers links from around the internet.

Breaking news people: There is no longer any need to dis-enroll your kids from their schools, nobody needs to evacuate the Bay Area. Godzilla and the Mutos are not converging on San Francisco and the military is not going to nuke the area to get rid of them. National treasure Bryan Cranston DID NOT die in Japan. I repeat, Walter White DID NOT die in Japan. As is turns out, Colin Kaepernick's contract wasn't the apocalyptic, team destructing, doomsday device some were making it out to be.

By just about every measuring stick, this is a team friendly contract that basically forces Kap to earn every cent if he is going to make superstar QB money on this deal. It leaves room for the 49ers to resign players and keep putting up an elite supporting cast around him. If our FO is smart - and I see no reason to suspect otherwise - we should be able to continue to field a Superbowl contender for the foreseeable future. Now lets get to those links.
