The NFL released some details on jersey sales since April 1, and San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick ranked No. 3. He has spent some time at the top of the jersey rankings, but slipped down to No. 3 this time around. Johnny Manziel ranked No. 1, and Russell Wilson came in at No. 2. Here is the full top ten:
1. Johnny Manziel
2. Russell Wilson
3. Colin Kaepernick
4. Peyton Manning
5. Richard Sherman
6. Michael Sam
7. Tom Brady
8. Drew Brees
9. Aaron Rodgers
10. 12th Fan - Seahawks
Yes indeed, the Seattle Seahawks "12th Fan" jersey finished tenth among all jerseys. I suppose that is not overly surprising. From the outside, the 12th Fan jersey is kinda stupid, but if I was a Seahawks fan, that jersey is one way to avoid the annoyance of buying a jersey and then seeing the player depart in free agency.
Manziel is apparently the highest selling Browns jersey since Brady Quinn was No. 2 back in 2007. Feel free to let that one sink in a little bit!
I'm currently settled with my jerseys. I rotate between Patrick Willis, Andy Lee, and Joe Montana. Three of the greatest at what they do in 49ers history! I still have my Alex Smith jersey, but I really have no idea what to do with it. I bought the jersey Smith's rookie year, so it's got the gold trim on the numbers. I can't really turn it into a Patton jersey without it looking a little funky. Any suggestions?
