49ers training camp: Day 1 practice gets underway

New, comments

The San Francisco 49ers open their first practice session of training camp. We've got a Twitter list to follow, and an open thread.

The San Francisco 49ers are back at training camp, and it is time for the first official practice session. The session starts at 2:30 p.m. PT, and I believe is somewhere in the two hour range. I'm not positive on that, but either way, down below I've embedded the media Twitter list to track what goes on. The media will have their practice recaps later today, and at that point I'll put together a look at some of the common themes we see emerge.

For day one, a lot of it will just be about seeing who is playing with which units. Will Chris Culliver or Chris Cook handle first team work opposite Tramaine Brock? Where will Tank Carradine work into the defensive line rotation? Who will handle right guard duties? These questions and many more will be answered. Of course, we won't know what this truly means for the regular season until we get to Week 1, but for now it at least starts to generate some context.
