49ers training camp: Day 6 practice gets underway

New, comments

The San Francisco 49ers are back for their sixth practice session of training camp. We've got a Twitter list to follow, and an open thread.

The San Francisco 49ers are back for day six of training camp practice. The session return to their 2:30 p.m. PT after Tuesday's 10 a.m. start time. Expect another two hour practice session. The beat writers will have practice recaps out sometime in the 5pm hour, and I'll be back with a compilation of them shortly after.

The march toward the first preseason contest continues. One question to be answered is which injured players will be back at practice today. The 49ers have given some veterans a breather, with Vic Fangio pointing to various nicks and bruises the team does not want to aggravate. Tramaine Brock and Chris Culliver are leading the way at cornerback, but both at on Tuesday. There's no need to push them back, but hopefully they're good to go soon.

Vic Fangio was less than pleased with the defense's performance on Tuesday. We'll see how they bounce back today, but we'll also want to see some more from the offense. Vance McDonald is a name we'll continue to track. And of course, the team is slowly working Bruce Ellington into the mix, so we'll see how much work he gets aside from special teams.

I've posted the media Twitter list down below, so you can follow practice there. You can also scroll back and check out some of the quotations from Jim Harbaugh's press conference. We'll have the full transcript later, but if you're antsy, check out the tweets.
