Golden Nuggets: Colin, Corners and Candlestick

New, comments

Monday, July 7, 2014 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of 49ers links from around the web.

I literally had only one link for today, but then an unforeseen delay came up and Presto! We have quite a few more. This being the pre-season, most of what we have are team and player projections. It's always fun to play "who will do what", but hardly anyone, whether expert or amateur, comes up accurate in these things. There is a funny mention though about Candlestick Park's last unofficial game by soon-to-be-seniors. And no we're not talking about 4th year students. So scroll on down and get reading.

Ranking players and teams (especially in the pre-season) is one of the most difficult things to do and yet no one seems to be able to resist doing it. Maybe we shouldn't assign numbers to it anymore. Just A-group, B-group, in between A-B group and so on and so forth. | Is Colin Kaepernick too low in ESPN's rankings? (Lynch)

An early, early look ahead at the 49ers roster. Did I mention it was early? Yeah. It's quite early to know who will be on the final roster so this might not be that accurate. | Team Preview: San Francisco 49ers (NFP)

I always enjoy BASG's insight into the team so this should be a good read. And yes, it's early too. | 49ers training camp battles to watch: cornerback (BASG)

It's been a long time since Ian Williams was on the field so there really is no telling what he will look like in game action. There's still a lot of potential here though. | San Francisco 49ers Ian Williams Trying ‘To Get Back to 100 percent' (BaySportsNet)
