49ers-Ravens joint practice on August 8 to be open to the public

New, comments

The San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens will conduct a joint open practice on August 8 at the Ravens stadium. We've got all the details.

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Earlier this year, the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens announced they would engage in four joint practices following their August 7 preseason opener. The first practice will take place on August 8 at M&T Bank Stadium, in Baltimore. The remaining three practices will follow that at the Ravens facility in Owings Mills, Maryland.

Earlier today, the Ravens announced that the Friday, August 8 M&T Bank Stadium practice will be open to the public. The practice will take place at 1 p.m. ET, and you will not need a ticket to attend. I don't know how much of the stadium will be open, but there should be plenty of room. The Ravens told me parking will cost $10, and they will open the team store and concession stands during the practice.

Given that I'm down near DC, I'll probably try and get up to Baltimore for the practice. There is a good sized contingent of 49ers fans in the DC, Maryland, Virginia region, and with people in New Jersey, Delaware and Pennsylvania, we could see a strong showing of fans. It is a midday Friday practice, so I'm sure some people will be working, but if you might make it out for the practice, let me know in the comments. I will also probably make it up for the game, and we can do a tailgate then, but meeting up for the practice will probably be a little less crazy.

For 49ers fans in the Bay Area, the team will hold a few open practices during training camp, but they have yet to announce dates. We'll update as soon as we hear anything.
