49ers vs. Broncos TV schedule, preseason 2014: NFL Network again brings us 49ers from a closet

New, comments

The 49ers host the Broncos in a Week 2 preseason contest. The game will once again be nationally televised. Of course, given how NFL Network handled last week's game, there will be some drawbacks.

The San Francisco 49ers return for Week 2 of the 2014 preseason as they will host the Denver Broncos at 1 p.m. PT, this Sunday, August 17. This marks the first NFL game at Levi's Stadium. More importantly, the game will once again be nationally broadcast on NFL Network.

The upside to NFL Network coverage is that people outside the 49ers and Broncos broadcast zones will be able to watch the game. The downside is I believe we will get the closet treatment again. As I understand it, last week's game was announced by Ari Wolfe and Kurt Warner from the NFL Network studios, as opposed to actually at the game. Of course, given that this is the first game in Levi's history, and given that it is at least in the same state as NFL Network's studios, maybe they will actually fly the broadcasters up to Santa Clara. That would be incredibly lazy and cheap of them not to send Wolfe and Warner to the game.

If you are in the 49ers broadcast zone, the game will be on KPIX (CBS-5). The announcers will be Ted Robinson, Tim Ryan, with Dennis O'Donnell handling sideline duties. The 49ers broadcast will also be shown in the following cities (NFL Network will be blacked out):

KOVR (CBS/13 - Sacramento)
KION (CBS/46 - Monterey CA)
KSBY (NBC/6 - San Luis Obispo CA)
KFRE (CW/59 - Fresno)
KERO (ABC/23 - Bakersfield CA)
KLAS (CBS/8 - Las Vegas)
KOLO (ABC/8 - Reno NV)
KCVU (FOX/30 - Chico CA)
KBVU (FOX/29 - Eureka CA)
KMVU (FOX/26 - Medford OR)
KVAL (CBS/13 - Eugene OR)
KTVZ (NBC/21 - Bend OR)
KITV (ABC/4 - Honolulu) [TD]

If you are in the Denver area, the game will be on KTVD (My/20). The Broncos broadcast will also be shown in the following cities (NFL Network will be blacked out):

KKTV (CBS/11 - Colorado Springs)
KKCO (NBC/11 - Grand Junction CO)
KMYU (My/12 - Salt Lake City)
KTNV (ABC/13 - Las Vegas)
KWBQ (CW/19 - Albuquerque)
KLWY (FOX/27 - Cheyenne WY)
KTWO (ABC/2 - Casper WY)
KTVQ (CBS/2 - Billings MT)
KXLF (CBS/4 - Butte MT)
KRTV (CBS/3 - Great Falls MT)
KXLH (CBS/9 - Helena MT)
KPAX (CBS/8 - Missoula MT)

If you get NFL Network, you're in luck. If you don't get NFL Network, and you don't live in the 49ers broadcast zone, you have two legal options. The first is to check out our Sports Bar Thread, and find a place to watch the game. The other option is to stream it on NFL.com's Preseason Live. NFL Network games are not blacked out on Preseason Live. You can also watch replays of all the games on Preseason Live.
