Golden Nuggets: Apparently, golf course fairways are not suitable to play football on

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning everyone. When Levi's stadium officially opened for business a few weeks ago, a lot was made of all the amenities. The grass, in particular, was described as A golf course fairway in a complimentary fashion. The problem with that is that golf fairways are in no way suitable for about a hundred massive men to run around on in spiked cleats. When I heard it, I immediately thought that there would be issues with the grass at some point. Lo and behold, yesterday, the 49ers only got partially through their open practice at Levi's before players started experiencing problems with the grass. Ultimately, they were forced to move to their ordinary practice fields and give the fans in attendance complimentary tickets to the 49ers museum in Levi's.

Apparently, issues with grass aren't unheard of in new stadiums, and the grass should be ready for Sundays game against the Chargers. Speaking of the Chargers, I am not sure if I am looking forward to the game or dreading it. I felt a little bad after the last nuggets I wrote since I felt I was unduly harsh on Blaine Gabbert. I was mortified to be proven right after the Bronco game. I won't even joke about how bad he was this time because I am legitimately terrified of what happens if Kaepernick ever goes down. It's gotten to the point that I actually gave a twitter Tim Tebow suggestion two seconds of actual thought... To the links!
