49ers sign wide receiver Lance Lewis

The young receiver took to Twitter to say he's been signed by the 49ers.

The San Francisco 49ers are panicking and have just hit the big red button. After a demoralizing, shameful loss at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens, the 49ers are desperately trying to bring in help to right the ship. I can only imagine the ...

Alright, there's maybe a chance that I'm just kidding around. But the 49ers did just sign somebody, and it's a wide receiver: Lance Lewis. He took to Twitter on Friday to say that he'd signed with the 49ers:

Lewis was signed by the Washington football team as an undrafted free agent in 2012. He was injured throughout the preseason, and was eventually waived, but signed back with the team prior to the 2013 season. He made it to the final wave of roster cuts, then was signed to the team's practice squad. He eventually made it onto the active roster for a few games, but did not get any playing time.

With East Carolina, he played in 22 games and caught 149 passes for 1,716 yards and 22 touchdowns in two seasons. There's obviously not a whole lot on him, so it's looking like the 49ers needed a camp body at the wide receiver position.
