49ers, Ravens begin first joint practice

The San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens are kicking off three days of joint practices in Owings Mills, Maryland. We've got a Twitter list to follow, and an open thread.

The San Francisco 49ers return to practice following their preseason opener, but this one is a little bit different. The 49ers kick off the first of three straight practices with the Baltimore Ravens. The practices will take place in Owings Mills, Maryland, home of the Ravens training camp. It appears the early part of today's practice will be streamed live at BaltimoreRavens.com.

The three practices are scheduled as follows:

Saturday - 11:45 a.m. PT
Sunday - 9 a.m. PT
Monday - 7:30 a.m. PT

Head coach Jim Harbaugh spoke before Saturday's practice. In the embedded Twitter feed down below you can see some of his comments. I will also have a transcript posted a little later today. On Sunday, Vic Fangio and Greg Roman will speak to the media after practice. On Monday, Jim Harbaugh will speak after practice, and then the 49ers will travel back to Santa Clara.

All three practices are expected to be fully-padded. Jim and John have had extensive discussions about how to handle the practices, so it will be interesting to see what happens if things get a little testy. Both Jim and John gave the media a little what-for on the talk of potential fights. They look at it as the media honing in on the negative, but I just view it as some good, clean fun, so long as everybody stays healthy. For our purposes, staying healthy is really all that matters for now.

I've posted the media Twitter list down below, so you can follow practice there. I'll be back with a recap. We should have extensive coverage given both the 49ers and Ravens media on hand.
