Golden Nuggets: Open House

Jed York finally broke his silence on the arrest of Ray McDonald following the debacle that was the Ray Rice issue. He spoke to KNBR about the reason the 49ers allowed McDonald to play on Sunday. He reiterated the comments made by Trent Baalke and Jim Harbaugh about due process. He stated that the team would rather gather all the facts before punishing a player, which many will agree or disagree with. It seems all in the front office trinity are on the same page regarding this issue. They also made it clear that there's no room for a player who is guilty of domestic violence.

Jed will finally open Levi's Stadium to the regular season with a Sunday Night showdown against the Chicago Bears. The Niners will get to face another high powered offense with a quarterback who is known for questionable decision making. The Bears, like the Cowboys, also have a highly suspect defense. Kap and the offense should have a field day against this defense. The Bills racked up 360 total yards with 193 coming on the ground against this defense. Gore and Hyde will see plenty of the ball.

The Niners defense will have their hands full if the Bears wideouts are healthy. Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery are a top receiving tandem. Both suffered injuries Sunday, but I doubt either misses the game against the Niners. It gets harder for the Niners if their CBs are not healthy. Both Culliver and Brock sustained injuries against the Cowboys. I would be surprised if Brock (toe) does not play, but Culliver could miss the game because of the concussion he sustained. Hopefully both are cleared to play as well as Ward. We will need all of them on Sunday night.
