Good morning everyone. Yesterday, much like every other day of this week, was a bad one for the NFL. Adrian Peterson was the latest star to be caught in the middle of the law. This time for child abuse. As much as I would love to go off on a tangent about that, the non football incidents since the Superbowl, both from the 49ers and around the NFL have made me sad. So I want to at least try and focus on the game coming up on Sunday.
The 49ers welcome the Bears as the first victim in the new Levi's Stadium. As you all should remember, the Bears were the first start of Colin Kaepernick's career in 2012. And what a game it was: The 49ers won 32-7, Aldon Smith had 5.5 sacks, and Colin Kaepernick shredded the defense that most thought was one of the best in the NFL at the time. This time around, Chicago's defense is not nearly as respected as that version. They were shredded for over 200 rushing yards last week against the Bills, and seem to have both personnel and scheme issues. Just because I can and I think it's fun to dream big, I am going to predict an epic blowout. The 49ers defeat the Bears 51-3 as Jim Harbaugh gives the fans what they want, finally allowing the 49ers to give into their killer instinct and put a team away for once.
