Golden Nuggets: A win like the one on Thursday would be nice for the 49ers

Friday, September 19th, 2014 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from around the Internet.

Christian Petersen

Good morning ladies and gentlemen. I hope you all enjoyed Thursday Night Football, though it wasn't a particularly good game. The Atlanta Falcons just demonstrated a strong argument for the NFL to enact the mercy rule by obliterating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Anybody who thought that game would be close has to be feeling pretty silly right now. As an aside, wouldn't it be great if the San Francisco 49ers went out and did that to some team? Sure would be nice.

Whatever the case, I don't expect that to happen this week. I expect the 49ers to bounce back and get a solid win over the NFC West rival Arizona Cardinals, but I don't expect them to humiliate the Cardinals or anything along those lines. Whatever the case, I'm prepared for the game after eating a Sonoran Hot Dog, which I've been told is a dish you can find in Arizona. You'll find my post on that on Friday.

Onto the linkage.
