The San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals each released their final injury reports for Sunday's Week 3 matchup. There are no shocks in this list. Vernon Davis and Vance McDonald are both listed as questionable, and are game-time decisions. Vernon's limp apparently looks much improved, and he said he is feeling great, but taking it "nice and slow."
I imagine we will see both tight ends out running around on Sunday to see if they are good to go. If the 49ers promote either Asante Cleveland or Xavier Grimble on Saturday, that would tell us a lot more. The team has until Saturday evening to promote a player from the practice squad so that he is eligible for Sunday. If neither is promoted, the 49ers would likely be feeling comfortable with at least one of McDonald or Davis. And of course, long snapper Kyle Nelson remains an emergency option as well.
How do you see the tight end situation playing out when the 49ers take the field on Sunday?
Fooch's Update: This amused me
Observation: Vernon Davis' limp seemed to grow more pronounced when he realized reporters were watching him. #idliketothanktheacademy
