49ers-Cardinals inactives: Vernon Davis, Vance McDonald BOTH inactive

The 49ers and Cardinals released their inactives, and the 49ers will be without their top two tight ends.

The San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinla released their Week 3 inactives and the 49ers will be without both starting tight ends. Vernon Davis and Vance McDonald are both inactive, which means Derek Carrier is the starting tight end, and Asante Cleveland will be the No. 2 tight end. Long snapper Kyle Nelson can also play tight end, but I suspect he is just an emergency option for now.

Quinton Dial is once again active, while Tank Carradine is inactive. I'm not really sure what Tank's future holds, but clearly he has not done enough for Vic Fangio and Jim Tomsula to be comfortable with him in even a reserve role. That is troubling to say the least.

49ers inactives: WR Quinton Patton, CB Tramaine Brock, C Marcus Martin, T Anthony Davis, TE Vernon Davis, TE Vance McDonald and DT Tank Carradine

Cardinals inactives: QB Carson Palmer, P Dave Zastudil, OLB Victor Butler, ILB Glenn Carson, OLB Alex Okafor, DT Alameda Ta'amu, TE Rob Housler
