We're all still doing plenty of grousing about the 49ers loss to the Cardinals, but there is also some Sunday Night Football to close out the day. The Carolina Panthers host the Pittsburgh Steelers, kicking off at 5:30 p.m. PT on NBC.
The Panthers entered the season with a lot of question marks due to some free agency departures, but they now find themselves 2-0, with a great shot in a wide open NFC South. The Falcons are 2-1, the Saints are 1-2, and the Buccaneers are 0-3. The Bucs are abysmal, the Saints will remain in this thing because of how good they can be at home, and the Falcons are clearly better than they were last year. For the Panthers and the latter two, this thing is wide open.
The Steelers are currently 1-1, and can't really afford to fall much further back in the AFC North. The Cincinnati Bengals are looking like the team to beat, while the Baltimore Ravens are doing just enough to hang around. Pittsburgh can bounce back from a loss tonight, but they'll be in tough shape in that division.
