49ers-Eagles inactives: Vernon Davis, Anthony Davis active

The 49ers and Eagles released their inactives for Week 4. The 49ers welcome back Vernon Davis and Anthony Davis, but remain without No. 2 tight end Vance McDonald.

The San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles released their Week 4 inactive reports, and as expected Vernon Davis, Anthony Davis, and Antoine Bethea are all active. The 49ers listed all three as questionable, but reports on the Davises were more and more positive as the week progressed. The 49ers decision to send tight end Asante Cleveland back to the practice squad was the strongest sign that the 49ers would have at least one tight end back. In this case, Davis is back, Vance McDonald is inactive.

Bethea suffered an ankle injury this week during practice, which cost him Friday's practice session. His active status means the 49ers will not be stuck with Craig Dahl at center safety. Vic Fangio had said Dahl would be an in-game replacement at safety, while Jimmie Ward would be considered for longer-term injuries. If Bethea's ankle acts up, Dahl could end up getting some time at safety.
