Good morning everyone. Here we are, the day before the season opener, and the playing status of Ray McDonald is still dominating the headlines. He was officially named a starter yesterday, and the cycle just kinda started up again. I get it, he was arrested for an extremely serious offense, and I doubt many people would be too sad to see him cut if he is found guilty. The optimist in me hopes that this is all a big misunderstanding. But are Tim Kawakami, and the people who share his sentiments of a paid suspension completely out of line? I don't think so. Still, the criticism of the 49ers does seem unfair when NFL players have a players association that would presumably not take too kindly to a player being suspended before any sort of type of due process plays out. It's tough as fans, because we are forced to confront the question of just how far our fandom extends.
In lighter news, the 49ers play football tomorrow afternoon! The cowboys look to have a historically bad defense. I mean, they are starting Rolando McClain... the guy that was retired last year at the age of 23. As far as what I expect from the game, I expect our offense to score with relative ease. Anthony Davis is out, and Michael Crabtree is questionable, but like I said, the Cowboys defense looks to be TERRIBLE this season. I am really interested to finally see just how much all the injuries and suspensions on defense will really affect us. While the rest of the football world is jumping on the 49er regression bandwagon, I'm going in the opposite direction and predicting a perfect season. Because why not? Predictions mean nothing, and I won't lose anything important when the prediction is proven false. Whats that? I would lose your respect and admiration? I mean... the statement speaks for itself. Well anyways, lets get to the links!
