Welp, time to get back on the horse! The 2014 NFL season is officially underway, and our San Francisco 49ers will once again look to make it back to the mountain top. It has now been three straight seasons in which the 49ers' season ended in heartbreaking fashion. I don't need to remind you about the specifics. All that matters is overcoming the adversity, and bringing home Lombardi No. 6.
Must Reads
Speaking of adversity, it's been a brutal offseason. I probably should not call arrests and stupid decisions adversity, but for the players that actually manage to avoid trouble (most of them), the offseason was filled with needless distractions. Fortunately, football is back and hopefully everybody can focus on the task at hand.
The 49ers get to open their season with a long time rival, as they travel to face the Dallas Cowboys. It is a nationally televised game, so most of the country will get to see it. Only those in the Panthers and Buccaneers TV markets will miss out.
This opens the third straight season in which we have high hopes for this team. It's time for the 49ers to get over the hurdle and reclaim their rightful place at the top of the league.
