Broncos, Colts open 2014 Sunday Night Football

Ronald Martinez

The San Francisco 49ers have their first win in hand, which means we can relax a little for Sunday Night Football. The Denver Broncos host the Indianapolis Colts in a potential playoff preview. Both teams claimed their respective divisions in 2013, and they are both sizable favorites to repeat in 2014.

The 49ers will face the Denver Broncos later this season, although that team will be a little different than this current version. This one will open the season without Wes Welker. He has been cleared from his concussion, but will sit out the first four games with a suspension for use of either MDMA or Adderall (depending on the report). Either way, he'll be back for the 49ers game later this season.

I have to think the Broncos dominate this game, even without Welker. The Broncos are a 7.5-point favorite, although that came down from as high as nine points. I'm guessing the Welker suspension helped the line drop, but I still think the Broncos cover.
